Excessive Corporatism in the Democratic Party.
HelloLook at http://www.democratz.org where I have legislation that people can demand from the real power in congress namely the corporations that donate to conservatives in both parties.Honestly, the Liberals in the Democratic party suffer from Stockholm syndrome and will not go after the companies that give money to conservatives with consumer boycotts to pressure their CEOs to get us the legislation that we need for the less fortunate. Instead we got corporate health care, and no real increase for the minimum wage, no EFCA, no women's freedom of choice act and no end to the Iraq war.I will go to the polls in 2010 and 2012 and I will not vote for representative and senators. In 2012 I will not vote for President. I will vote for local offices and vote Democratic. The Democratic party has turned too corporate for my liking. We essentially got Romneycare as health care. Elderly and disabled people still have to pay 2 sets of monthly premiums and 2 sets of yearly deductibles to get 1 drug benefit that should have gone in Medicare Part B in the first place. After waiting 7 years for getting a drug benefit in Part B my Democrats have decided to perpetuate the lousy Medicare Part D and close the gap in another 10 years? What a cruel joke. The so called 50 percent discount will get wiped out in the next year when BIG PHARMA doubles their drug prices. The GOPranos appear corrupt but the Democrats which I joined in 1971 appear such cowards to enact real legislation that helps the poor, the disabled, the retired and even the middle class. The DLC and their conservative brethren must get purged from this party by shunning them by not donating to the Democratic party so they get none of my money and none of my votes. That includes moderate Senator Schumer and conservative Senator Gillibrand who have not lifted a finger to set up a prescription drug benefit in Medicare Part B.So retired and disabled people will have waited 17 years to close the coverage gap in Medicare Part D and they still have to pay 2 sets of monthly premiums and 2 sets of yearly deductibles for 1 drug benefit.I'm not leaving the Democratic Party but it has left me.
